Development Finance Summer Academies 2013
For more than 50 years, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has been a leading Business School in providing professional, academic, and executive education to managers and executives as well as financial institutions.
We are proud to present three Development Finance Summer Academies in 2013 within the framework of our International Advisory Services activities.
Each Summer Academy offers plenty of opportunities to learn, to gain new insights, to widen your scope - both from our well-experienced faculty and from networking with other participants. This is your opportunity to stretch your network all around the globe!
Micro & SME Banking Summer Academy
Our successful Micro & SME Banking Summer Academy (07 - 12 July 2013) offered you the chance to select your "hot topic" not only in regards to technical knowledge but also management excellence. Additionally the latest trends of micro- and SME banking as well as micro insurance were discussed.
Sustainable Energy Finance Summer Academy
Due to popular demand the Sustainable Energy Finance Summer Academy (14 - 19 July 2013) opened its class-room doors to welcome more participants than in previous years. Yet, the new concept promised small class-sizes tailored to your experience level, superior networking opportunities and specialised training to build your core competence. The new design offered you the freedom to select your preferred electives.
Housing Finance Summer Academy
If your interest lies in housing finance we invited you to participate in our well-established Housing Finance Summer Academy (21 - 26 July 2013) where you were able to discuss the latest topics and trends in the housing sector. We specifically focused on conveying practical knowledge and tools for successfully managing mortgage lending operations and developing approaches and products that meet the rising demand for housing finance.
No matter which course, our Development Finance Summer Academies offer the perfect opportunity to gather high-quality technical knowledge, build up a worldwide network and share practical experience!
Though the courses in Frankfurt have already successfully come to an end in July 2013, you have one last chance to participate in this year's Summer Academy programme. The Sustainable Energy Finance Summer Academy in Mombasa is yet to take place in Mombasa, Kenya in October 2013 . Don't miss your chance to apply. Only limited seats are available.

Micro- and SME banks in transition and developing countries are undergoing rapid change. Many institutions face increasing competition, tougher regulation or are branching out to embrace new market segments.
The Frankfurt School – UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance (The Centre) is becoming a leading think and do tank on sustainable energy and climate mitigation and adaptation finance.
Housing finance in developing and emerging countries faces various challenges. Issues related to affordability, lack of housing supply, responsible underwriting and monitoring practices, management of foreign-exchange risk and long-term funding sources for mortgage loans require specialized and innovative knowledge in the area.
Given the importance of the financial industry in shaping the world’s response to climate change and the rapidly increasing global demand for new energy solutions, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management developed its course on Sustainable Energy Finance (SEF).
