Testimonials

Participants from last year shared their experience as follows:

"The Micro & SME Banking Academy 2012 had an extraordinary training methodology and a multidisciplinary approach, as well as a clear and strong content structure that focused on core technical issues of financial institutions. In this training event I was introduced to many options for facing the challenges of financial inclusion for small farmers in Rural Mexico. In my middle professional career, the event strengthend my capabilities in several core areas of managing micro and SME financial institutions: Risk and financial management, SME Finance, Agriculture and Rural Finance, leadership, micro insurance and development of financial products.
The Frankfurt School of Finance and Management is a state of the art institution in issues of finance and management, and this course included highly talented instructors, who were experts in each topic they addressed. It wasn't hard to notice their deep knowledge in core issues. The training methodology helped participants to realize a deeper knowledge of core banking issues; the participants of middle executive officers from financial institutions from across 35 developing countries were able to gain knowledge from the applied experiences of the high level trainers. Furthermore, this training took place in the unique environment of the city of Frankfurt which is a world leading financial center.
The cutting edge and multidisciplinary approach of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management provided an interactive and engaging executive education program. This year's Micro and SME Banking Academy 2012 empowered me to be more productive, more effective and will help my organization to achieve its goals of financial inclusion of rural farmers.
Finally I would like to say that I felt honored to be selected by Frankfurt School to be part of this training and I hope the institution will continue to organize these events in order to spread its knowledge to more financial institutions in developing countries."

"It’s my pleasure to express my experience with Frankfurt School's Micro & SME Banking Summer Academy 2012 which was full of knowledge and enjoyment. The training was very valuable and provided us with extensive information. The topics selected by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management were very suitable and important. The academy covered the important areas of microfinance which was very helpful to microfinance practitioners. The structure of this training was set appropriately. The topic “Risk Management” is very crucial, interesting and useful for the credit administration. The highly qualified trainer shared knowledge on ways to minimize the risk.
The panel discussion with highly qualified experts was an extra excitement. I had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge level, professionalism and the extra skills to work in my field efficiently and effectively.
I felt honored to be a part of this training program. I am really obliged to Frankfurt School for giving me the opportunity to attend this training program. My heartfelt thanks to MasterCard Foundation for granting me the scholarship which made it possible for me to attend this event. I am also thankful to the team members of this program who were very supportive and helpful. I wish all the success to this program as well as to Frankfurt School.

“It’s a bit difficult to express in words all the impression we have got from this training. Everything was perfect and in high level. It has definitely covered today’s actual issues. And the importance and use of it is very high especially among us – microfinance practitioners. I am back in my country now and already using all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained at this Summer Academy.
I really enjoyed the way the training was set and structured. You could feel the high professional level of organizers and trainers. I am very thankful to all of them for sharing not only the theory but also their big experience in their field.
Of course for me topics on Treasury management, Business strategies and Mobile banking were very interesting as I work in Treasury. But nevertheless I found other topics very important as well.
Also I very much enjoyed after-training discussions and debates. We were able to share all our experience and advice each other with best practices. I also would like to thank FS for organizing meetings with MFI practitioners like CEO of Banco Compartamos, representatives from IFC and others.
And at the end I’d like to say that I felt honored to be a part of this training and hope FS will keep organizing such events and will also keep all of its good traditions and culture.”

“Reading about the Commercial Micro Banking Summer Academy 2011 program prior to the application process, I was very impressed with its content. All the major issues, both current and embedded into the microfinance sector, were included. The Summer Academy fulfilled all my expectations and more. Although scheduled in a one-week period, we managed to retain significant knowledge and applicable tools in such wide and complex range of issues going from Refinancing Strategies, Strategic Market Expansion, and Treasury Management to Advanced Credit Risk Management. The program was concluded with the several topics in the area of Business Strategies that provided us with a great selection of current and most significant issues in microfinance. The profiles of the lecturers are very impressive and deservingly so. All the lecturers were very successful in sharing their extensive knowledge and experience with the participants of the Academy. The learning was not just the result of the lectures but also the colleagues in the classroom. The exchange of experiences and knowledge was very useful. Even during the first week upon my return to the office, there were segments of the lectures I could apply immediately. I am already looking forward to the next year's Summer Academy. “
