Regional Focus
Students must choose one of four regions for their specialisation: either Asia, Latin America, Africa, or Europe. The focus of this specialisation is to allow students to gain a deeper understanding of the unique dynamics of doing business in an emerging region in the world. These markets have been playing an increasingly stronger role in the global economy with services, production centres and trade flows already starting to shift to these areas of the world. On the other hand, students from these emerging regions or various parts of the world may decide to focus on European Business Relations, thus gaining a deep understanding of the dynamics of doing business in one of the largest, strongest, and ever-growing economies in the world.
The regional specialisations begin by exposing students to the development of the economy in the chosen region, to the current business and economic issues faced by companies and institutions in the region, and to the cultural diversity between the region and Europe or within Europe. Students then have the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of and experience doing business in the chosen region via an excursion to a major city, which includes company visits and discussions with foreign experts and managers from various industries.
