Development Finance is about shifting the financial frontier outward. In many countries of the world, would-be entrepreneurs, farmers, businesses and even governments do not have access to formal financial infrastructure - they are trapped in poverty behind the financial frontier.

Development finance initiatives promote inclusive finance - making finance work for all. These initiatives include capital market development, management of remittances, infrastructure finance, microfinancial products (microloans, - insurance, - savings), microfinancial institutions (microbanking, - fundmanagement, - and supervision), financial infrastructure, energy and commodity finance.

The Frankfurt School Master of Finance Development Finance Concentration prepares recent graduates of social sciences, economics and related disciplines for a career in international development work. This programme is ideal for all those who wish to work for

  • pursue a PhD upon completion of the Master programme 

The Master of Finance Development Finance Concenration is a two year, full-time, taught master programme revolving around an integrated internship immersion in a developing country. The program uniquely combines

  • academic enrichment in three disciplines ( economics, finance and management in the development context)
  • hands-on vocational training (integrated internship)
  • soft (intercultural, presentation etc ) and hard (quantitative, analytical etc ) skills
