Requirements Fundamental mathematical knowledge and professional experience in finance are indispensable for success in this programme. Furthermore, you should:



- have a relevant university degree which is recognised by the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management;

- have two to five years of professional experience, as well as

- have passed the TOEFL with a score of at least 90 iBT points (or equivalent).

  • CREDITS
    All taught courses carry 5 ECTS credits. The Thesis carries 15 ECTS credits.
Skills Students learn to apply and implement risk management techniques and models for various kinds of risks and to critically assess the limitations and potential pitfalls of these methods. They are able to analyse financial products and business strategies regarding their risk potential and to set up adequate organizational structures and processes. Students also learn how to assess risk management approaches and their potential micro- and macroeconomic impacts from a supervisory point of view.
Knowledge Students become acquainted with all relevant concepts and terms of financial as well as non-financial risk management and acquire the most important methods and techniques to apply these concepts in practice. The program in equal measure focuses on quantitative and qualitative aspects of risk management. This includes measuring and modelling all kinds of risks relevant for financial institutions and the implementation and control of adequate risk management processes. Students also study the legal and regulatory framework of financial risk management both on the national and international level.
Responsibilities Students are qualified to responsibly fill a challenging position in all areas of risk management, risk controlling, product development and supervision as well as other roles where a solid understanding of risk management is required. They have a clear conception of highly complex and integrated risk situations and are able to detect potential problems and to develop adequate solutions. For managing the implementation process they are able to communicate well-informed with external and internal partners throughout the bank and on all hierarchical levels.
