MIB students on excursion to Shanghai
Nine MIB students spent a week in Shanghai, China, for a one week excursion as part of their specialisation Asian Business Relations. The Shanghai excursion week took place from November 30 to December 4 and was organized by the German Centre of Banking and Finance (GCBF) at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), which is a collaboration between the Frankfurt School and CEIBS.

On the CEIBS' campus
The excursion was the final part of the Asian Business Relations specialisation in which students had the opportunity to interact with managers and other experts from industry and learn more about doing business in China. The week included a course about current issues in Chinese business, some company visits and cultural activities. The students heard lectures about management and education, China’s economic policy, China’s financial development, turnaround management and fund management in China from Prof. Dr. Rolf Cremer, Dean of CEIBS, Prof. Dr. Horst Löchel, Director of the German Centre of Banking and Finance, and other experienced lecturers who have been doing business in China for several years. The lectures were supplemented by company visits to Shanghai Chenpon Pharmaceutical Technology Co. Ltd and Bao Steel along with a visit to the Shanghai Urban Planning museum. The students therefore were able to gain a solid understanding of China’s economic and business policies and to experience Chinese culture in both a business and social context.
We would like to say thank you to Prof. Dr. Horst Löchel and Ms. Betty Huang for organizing a very interesting and fun week and being great hosts to our students. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Prof. Dr. Rolf Cremer for sharing his knowledge and expertise and for welcoming our students on campus at CEIBS.
