MasterCard Foundation supports FS

The MasterCard Foundation supported the international Summer Academies at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management again this year. Eleven scholarships were provided for the participants of the MFI Management and the Commercial Micro Banking Summer Academies. They consist of an allowance for tuition fees as well as travel expenses.

„We thank the MasterCard Foundation for its generous commitment“, says Professor Dr. Udo Steffens, president of the Frankfurt School. He furthermore added that the Summer Academies had developed to much more than a mere training facility. They turned out to be a network meeting for people who work in development finance. „With the scholarships, the MasterCard Foundation gives people the chance to join this network!“

Frankfurt School’s International Advisory Services (IAS) unit organises the Summer Academies on an annual basis. They are attended by experts and managers who work for non-government organisations, development banks or microfinance institutions mostly in developing or emerging countries all over the world. This year, IAS organised five different Summer Academies: the Mircrofinance Principles Summer Academy, the MFI Management Summer Academy, the Commercial Microbanking Summer Academy, the Housing Finance Summer Academy and the Sustainable Energy Finance Summer Academy.
