secretary of State in the Hessian Ministry of Finance.

„Together with all colleagues, I con-
gratulate Ms. Höl-
scher!“ says Frank-
furt School’s Presi-
dent Professor Dr. Udo Steffens. “Ev-
eryone at FS is de-
lighted that our faculty member Luise Hölscher can bring in her exper-
tise into Hessian politics. Having the difficult budgetary situation in mind, she will surely face some big challenges!”

Luise Hölscher was born in Münster / Westfalen in 1971. She passed her Abitur in 1990 at the Jugenddorf Christophorusschule in Braunschweig for highly talented students. She then studied Business Administration at the University of Osnabrück and was admitted to the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes). She gradatued in 1994 and moved on to Erlangen University where she was awarded her Ph.D. in 1997. In 2003, she received her Habilitation. From 1994 to 2003 she held lectureships at various universities. From November 2002 to October 2003 she was employed by Rödl & Partner GbR Rechtsanwälte Steuer-
berater Wirtschaftsprüfer in Nuremberg. From October 2003 to July 2004 she worked as tax, budgeting and finance specialist at the CDU’s Council of Economic Advisors (Wirtschaftsrat der CDU e.V) in Berlin. From January to July 2004 she took up a secondary employment as Manager at Ernst & Young AG, Nuremberg. Since August 2004 she is a member of the federal special commission on taxation, budgeting and finance in the CDU Council of Economic Advisors in Berlin (Wirtschaftsrat der CDU e.V).

In August 2004 she joined the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management as Professor for Accounting & Taxation. Since spring 2010, she is also Head of the Management Department.

“Luise Hölscher has essentially formed the subjects accounting and taxation at the Frankfurt School”, continues Udo Steffens. “She developed the according specialisa-
tion in the Finance-Master and has led it since. Her manifold relationships into politics and business have significantly contributed to position the Frankfurt School as a busi-
ness school addressing topics beyond banking and finance. I specifically want to thank her for this important contribution.” Steffens stressed that within the next weeks the FS and Ms. Hölscher would jointly develop ideas on how Ms. Hölscher might stay involved in teaching at the FS.

“It will definitely be an honour to welcome Luise Hölscher regularly on campus”, concludes Udo Steffens.
