Curriculum

Dieter Gerdesmeier joined the Money, Credit and Capital Markets Division of the Deutsche Bundesbank in May 1993. From January 1995 onwards, he changed position to work in the Special Committee for Monetary Policy Issues of the Economics Department.

In October 1998, he became a staff member in the Monetary Policy Strategy Division and from January 2005 onwards in the Monetary Policy Stance Division of the European Central Bank. Dieter Gerdesmeier holds a diploma in business and economics from the University of Basel (CH) and was awarded a doctorate in economics in 1993. In September 2006, Dieter was appointed Honorary Professor at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, lecturing mostly monetary economics.
