Frankfurt School of Finance & Management will host its first FS Alumni & Friends event in Shanghai with Professor Dr Horst Löchel, MBA Programme Director and Professor of Economics at Frankfurt School and Professor Dr Cheng Zhou, Executive Vice-Dean of Shanghai International Banking and Finance Institute (SIBFI) on June 23, 2015.
Professor Dr Cheng Zhou will welcome the guests in Shanghai. Professor Dr Horst Loechel will give a lecture on “Frankfurt as Financial Centre – Ascending with the Dragon!”: The internationalisation of the Chinese renminbi (RMB) is one of the most important global financial developments of our time. There is no doubt that sooner or later, the renminbi will become a leading international currency to rival the US dollar and the euro. The creation of offshore markets for the renminbi will be an important milestone on the way to achieving this status. The decision to choose Frankfurt as one of the first RMB offshore hubs outside Asia sends out a strong signal regarding economic and financial cooperation between Germany and China. In particular, the decision will deepen ties between German and Chinese banks and strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
The talk will be followed by a reception with ample chance to meet fellow alumni and friends of Frankfurt School in China. We look forward to meeting you in Shanghai!
Please register for the event by June 21, 2015 via the FS Online Campus under “FS Friends Event”. (If you’ve forgotten your login details, please click here.)
*As the event will be held in English due to an international audience, this invitation is also composed in English. Of course you’re welcome to converse in any other language at the reception. Please note that Frankfurt School is unable to reimburse any travel expenses relating to this event.
