Friendly barbecue on evening of topping-out ceremony
Chatting, eating and drinking, meeting friends old and new, exploring the new campus, simply enjoying a couple of hours in good company – that’s what last Friday evening was all about. The occasion was the topping-out ceremony for the new campus, which was celebrated on Friday morning. And to top off the ceremony, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management invited all FS Friends and supporters – including students, graduates, academic staff, current and former Board members, sponsors, employees, and contacts in business, politics and society – to an evening barbecue.
Campus tour: real-life or virtual
Of course the evening’s guests were encouraged to explore the new campus. The real-world campus tour opened with a swift journey to the eighth floor in the new external elevator, while enjoying a magnificent view of the city skyline. As visitors arrived, a team from project management firm MOW welcomed them and gladly answered their questions about the new building. But the opportunity to explore the new campus “virtually” was also very popular. Guests were able to visit the new building without leaving the ground floor by taking part in a Virtual Reality (VR) experience. State-of-the-art technology and special headsets allowed them to immerse themselves in every detail of the new development.
Give & Win
An important part of the programme was the Give & Win fundraising raffle. By donating a minimum of 100 euros to Frankfurt School, participants in the prize draw vied for 20 invitations to an exclusive roof-top get-together. The event will be held on July 14, 2016 by Professor Dr Udo Steffens, President of Frankfurt School, in his office on the new building’s eighth floor. Giulia Erichsen, currently in the fourth semester of a Management, Philosophy & Economics (MPE) bachelor degree course, agreed to do the honours and drew the winners’ names.
Frankfurt School President Professor Dr Udo Steffens thanked all donors for their support: “We are enormously grateful to you for your sponsorship! Together with you, our friends and supporters, we can make Frankfurt School strong as we strive to become one of Europe’s top institutions. My warmest thanks to you all!”
