On Friday, September 1, 2017, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management gave first-semester students on Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree courses a warm welcome at the business school’s official Bachelor’s Opening Ceremony. For the first time, the ceremony was held on the new Frankfurt School campus, with more than 600 guests in attendance. Professor Dr Udo Steffens, President of Frankfurt School, welcomed the students and their families, friends and partners. In his address, he stressed that the new students had made a good decision by opting to study at Frankfurt School, as it is one of the best business schools in Germany, has set itself the ambitious goal of becoming one of European’s top business schools by 2020, and is making very good progress towards achieving this goal.

Roland Koch – former Minister-President of the federal state of Hesse, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of UBS Deutschland AG and senior lecturer at Frankfurt School – gave the keynote speech, stating that the international job market is demanding and presents career entrants with tough challenges. “You can be sure that Frankfurt School will prepare you very thoroughly to tackle them,” he told his audience.

Dr Heike Brost, Head of Degree Programmes & Executive Education, welcomed the students to the informal part of the evening after first urging them to play an active role in the Frankfurt School community alongside their studies. After the event, guests were invited to take a guided tour of the campus, explore the new building and enjoy the rest of the evening at a congenial get-together.

Bachelor’s Orientation Week

The Opening Ceremony was preceded by an orientation week on the new campus for Bachelor of Science students. Teambuilding activities gave the newcomers plenty of opportunities to get to know one another and forge early friendships. During the week, Frankfurt School staff gave the students other important course-related information in a series of presentations and workshops.
