Frankfurt am Main, 23.11.2021 12:00:00

On November 3, 2021 one of the most important events of Frankfurt School took place – the annual Career Day. To connect participants globally and to pre-empt any Corona imponderables, the Career Services team once again relied on an online concept, setting a new record for participating companies.

Participants were able to get to know each other and exchange ideas in various formats such as presentations, virtual booths and one-on-one meetings. Around 1,000 Frankfurt School students and alumni spoke with more than 700 company representatives in over 2,300 online sessions. Impressive numbers – but even more impressive are the number and names of the companies that didn't want to miss the chance to connect with Frankfurt School students and alumni. The spectrum of companies ranged from long-established Frankfurt institutions such as Metzler to successful newcomers like AboutYou and German blue chips such as adidas or BASF to global players like BlackRock, McKinsey or UBS.

Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of Frankfurt School: "In recent years, our Career Day has established itself as one of the largest and at the same time most sophisticated career events in the Rhine-Main region. We took the difficult Corona situation as an opportunity and flexibly switched to a online format. Originally born out of necessity, the new concept enabled us to attract target groups globally and to almost double the number of participating companies compared to the previous face-to-face format."

For students and company representatives, FS Career Day is worthwhile. Martina Neske, Managing Partner at Chom Capital, says: "Frankfurt School's virtual Career Day was a highly exciting format for us, allowing us to find working students precisely tailored to our needs from a large pool of talent. It opens up the opportunity for both sides to get to know each other even before the actual first meeting, which is highly efficient. The various contact formats and detailed student profiles allow us to quickly get a very good impression of many talents. We are thrilled by the high quality and number of students that have joined our talent pool. We would be happy to participate again next year!"

For Johann Birnbaum, a student in the Bachelor in Business Administration programme, his first Career Day was already successful: “Frankfurt School Career Day was a great opportunity to get to know your potential future employers. The very familiar atmosphere in the virtual live booths and coffee chats enabled very efficient networking. It is remarkable, that Frankfurt School managed to acquire a McKinsey Partner or a Morgan Stanley Managing Director for a presentation and coffee chat. After the career day I was kindly asked by Citi to apply for their Spring Insight Program. Because of the good networking and the great support of the Career Services team I was also able to write a perfect application which secured me an interview at Morgan Stanley for the Spring Insight Program. Frankfurt School Career Services do a great job to make experience in investment banking even possible for first semester students.“
