All regional specialisations follow the same pattern. There are lectures on “Development of regional economies” and “Doing business in the region”. This is followed by an excursion to the region. Throughout the semester students work on a business case which is organised as a competition with practitioners as contact person.
African Business Relations
Participants of African Business Relations achieve a basic understanding of African economies. The module aims at students who are interested in gaining an overview about the complex region and who wish to understand the potential for business in the future, paying also attention to development issues.
The excursion in Africa is scheduled for Nairobi, Kenya, which will include business, government, academic and cultural visits.
Asian Business Relations
Participants of Asian Business Relations achieve a basic understanding of East Asian economies, mainly China. The excursion is scheduled for various cities in China such as Beijing and Shanghai. Via the excursion to China, students get first-hand experience of the region and have the opportunity to talk to Chinese and foreign experts and managers about the results of their studies.
Latin American Business Relations
The module offers an introduction into major economic trends of the region, with a focus on its lead economy, Brazil. The excursion in Latin America is scheduled for major cities in Brazil. With a view on practical and application-orientated issues, the excursion will include business, government, academic and cultural visits.
