With peers from all over the world, senior female managers are equipped with the necessary intellectual tools to break through that infamous “glass-ceiling”, creating sustainable value for their respective organizations

Target Group

The Women’s Leadership Academy is designed for functional and senior managers, with at least 7 years of working experience, who aspire to positions of greater responsibility and who want to achieve sustainable impact in their organizations

Throughout the programme, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their experience, bring insights back to the classroom, and receive feedback from faculty and peers.

During this five-day executive programme participants will be exposed to many different aspects of leadership – from channelling creativity effectively, to being able to inspire teams and audiences, and finally to negotiate to create value. Personal coaching and individual leadership feature just as prominently as networking. A method mix of case studies, role play, theoretic analysis and research ensure maximum learning impact.

A Typical Day at the Women's Leadership Academy

Administrative Details


The Admissions Committee will review your application and advise you on the outcome as soon as possible. It admits qualified candidates on a rolling and space-available basis.

Tuition and accommodation expenses

The total fee for Women’s Leadership Academy is EUR 4,300. This fee includes the course fee, all training materials, and full-board accommodation in single rooms for the time of training.


The Women’s Leadership Academy will be held at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. The campus facilities offer a broad variety of seminar rooms including high-class training facilities. The campus is situated in the center of Frankfurt am Main and offers an inspiring environment with excellent training facilities and internet access.


The language of instruction will be English and no translation will be provided.

Joanne Thomas Yaccato is the president and founder of the Toronto-based consulting firm The Thomas Yaccato Group, known as Corporate Canada’s Gender Lens. TYG has spent 15 years working with companies using a concept called Gender Intelligence. Joanne’s innovative business approach spans a wide spectrum: Working with African banks in Nigeria and The Gambia through The World Bank to doing gender-based analyses of the convenience store experience for Esso and Petro-Canada.

He obtained his PhD from the Aarhus School of Business, Aarhus University, Denmark.

His research focuses on organizational sense-making, routine dynamics and organizational learning with a particular interest in understanding how updating unfolds across time and boundaries. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Journal of Management and Journal of Management Studies, among others. He has current or previous editorial positions on the boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies and Strategic Organization. His work has also been featured in various newspapers and magazines, including Forbes and IESE Insight.

Rerup’s research (w/ Barry) was awarded the 2002 Best Paper Award in Organization and Management Theory at the Academy of Management Conference. A co-authored paper (w/ Hu) was awarded the 2015 EGOS Best Student Paper Award. In 2016, his research (w/ Feldman) received enough citations on Web of Science to place it in the top 1% of the academic field of Economics & Business. In 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, he received the Award for Extraordinary Service to the Editorial Board of Organization Science. Rerup’s research has been funded by grants from the Danish and Canadian social science research foundations, and a number of private foundations and companies.

Claus Rerup has taught undergraduate, master, MBA and PhD courses in organizational behavior, leadership, team dynamics, organization theory and change management. He has also delivered workshops on these topics to executive audiences in a range of industries. His teaching has been recognized by several awards.

Prior to his academic career, he worked as a management consultant, and a board member.

Dorothy LeBaron

Dorothy LeBaron is a trusted personal coach and workshop facilitator based in Toronto, Canada. In both individual coaching sessions and group workshops, she uses arts-based learning and “Biography Work” to help clients find new perspectives on their personal and working lives, and provides them with tools and approaches that help them think, feel and act in creative and insightful new ways.

Dorothy has been teaching and facilitating workshops in Canada and the USA for the past 14 years. She trained in arts-based learning and Biography Work at Arscura School for Living Art, where she has also taught. She teaches the Biography component of Foundation Studies at the Rudolf Steiner Centre in Toronto. Dorothy is part of the team of facilitators at The Art of Customer Service.

Dorothy currently serves on the Council of the Anthroposophical Society in Canada.

Prof. Dr. Erich Barthel

Professor of Corporate Culture and Human Resources of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. His research interests include change management, performance-oriented remuneration and human capital.

Ute Bühler

Born in Munich, Germany, Ute Bühler completed formal vocational training as a banking clerk and attained a degree in Finance, Sales and HR. She completed further training courses in finance, focusing on sales and human resources in Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Being a certified coach and trainer of mediators rounds out her image.

Since 2015 she has been working for Frankfurt School as well as a freelance coach and mentor.

Prof. Dr. Zacharias Sautner

Zacharias Sautner is Professor of Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He was previously Associate Professor of Finance (with tenure) at the University of Amsterdam and Director of the Corporate Finance and Banking program at Duisenberg school of finance. Prior to that he worked as Research Fellow in Finance at the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford.
