Overview

The Women’s Leadership Academy aims to maximize the participants’ leadership effectiveness, through a unique combination of coaching, networking, analytical reflection and tailor-made personal development. With peers from all over the world, senior female managers are equipped with the necessary intellectual tools to break through that infamous “glass-ceiling”, creating sustainable value for their respective organizations.

Throughout the programme, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their experience, bring insights back to the classroom, and receive feedback from faculty and peers.

Women's Leadership Academy will be recognized as the in-class Week of The Frankfurt Mini MBA programme.

Target Group

The Women’s Leadership Academy is designed for functional and senior managers, with at least 7 years of working experience, who aspire to positions of greater responsibility and who want to achieve sustainable impact in their organizations

Curriculum

During this five-day executive programme participants will be exposed to many different aspects of leadership – from channelling creativity effectively, to being able to inspire teams and audiences, and finally to negotiate to create value. Personal coaching and individual leadership feature just as prominently as networking. A method mix of case studies, role play, theoretic analysis and research ensure maximum learning impact.

A Typical Day at the Women's Leadership Academy

Administrative Details

Application

The Admissions Committee will review your application and advise you on the outcome as soon as possible. It admits qualified candidates on a rolling and space-available basis.

Tuition and accommodation expenses

The total fee for Women’s Leadership Academy is EUR 4,300. This fee includes the course fee, all training materials, and full-board accommodation in single rooms for the time of training.

Location

The Women’s Leadership Academy will be held at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. The campus facilities offer a broad variety of seminar rooms including high-class training facilities. The campus is situated in the center of Frankfurt am Main and offers an inspiring environment with excellent training facilities and internet access.

Language

The language of instruction will be English and no translation will be provided.

Know your Lecturers*

Prof. Dr. Myriam Bechtoldt

Myriam Bechtoldt, holds a PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology and a diploma (comparable to M.Sc.) in Psychology.  Worked as an assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), and assumed full time professorship in Organisational Behaviour at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, prior to joining EBS. In 2018, Prof. Bechtoldt lectured at the Summer Academy in the topic “Female Leadership”.

Her research is skewed towards Gender Management, Emotional Intelligence, Stress and health at work and group creativity. Myriam Bechtoldt worked as a journalist before embarking on her academics career, and now serves as a Systemic Psychotherapist

Ute Bühler

Ute Bühler, has accumulated vast experience in technical fields as well as leadership during her professional career in UniCredit Bank. Holding various managerial positions, She was responsible with training and team coaching, with an emphasis on leadership, sales strategies, customer service, and achieving targets.

Since 2014, she has been working as an independent trainer, coach and mediator, amongst others for Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. In 2018, Ms. Bühler lectured at the Women’s Leadership Academy. In this new capacity, she teaches various leadership training courses, amongst others in the following areas: change management, negotiation skills, communication, human resources management and development, general and strategic leadership.

Joanne Thomas Yaccato

Joanne Thomas Yaccato, the president and founder of the Toronto-based consulting firm, The Thomas Yaccato Group; known as Corporate Canada’s Gender Lens. TYG has spent 15 years working with companies using a concept called Gender Intelligence. Joanne’s innovative business approach spans a wide spectrum: Working with African banks in Nigeria and The Gambia through The World Bank, doing gender-based analyses of the convenience store experience for Esso and Petro-Canada.

The Thomas Yaccato Group’s work with organizations like The Royal Bank, Allstate Insurance, IKEA, The Home Depot, The B.C. Government and Toyota Canada has proven vital in bridging the gap between getting it right with women and getting it right with everyone else. In 2018, Ms. Thomas Yaccato lectured at our Women’s Leadership Academy.

Prof. Dr. Zacharias Sautner

Zacharias Sautner, is a Professor of Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Previously an Associate Professor of Finance (with tenure) at the University of Amsterdam and Director of the Corporate Finance and Banking program at Duisenberg school of finance. Formerly worked as Research Fellow in Finance at the Saïd Business School of the University of Oxford. In 2018, Prof. Sautner lectured at our Women’s Leadership Academy.

Specializing in empirical corporate finance and focuses on corporate governance, executive compensation, M&A, internal capital markets, and bankruptcy.

Research work published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Review of Finance. Has completed conferences presentation, such as the AFA, WFA, EFA, and now, teaches corporate finance, valuation, corporate governance and won several teaching awards in recognition of his efforts and skills.
