On November 15, 2016, female students and alumnae gathered at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management for a Ladies First event with Susann Bäck, Manager at Bain & Company. This event series is organised by Frankfurt School’s Career Services and Alumni Management and aims to provide a platform for female career advice.
“Go your own way!” was the title of the evening and Susann Bäck started her talk by giving a short overview of her way to a successful career in strategy consulting. She has a Diploma in Business Administration from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University and an Honors Degree in Technology Management from the Technical University in Munich. Afterwards she worked for Horváth & Partners and as researcher for Stern Stewart & Co. In 2007 she joined Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant gaining experience in corporate strategy, re-organisation and large-scale transformation processes. Today she is a Manager at the company, leading a team of five consultants.
In her talk Susann Bäck explained how her “female approach” in projects and communication in general became one of her assets. On top of this she gave some candid insights into how to handle life and career and how one can reconcile this profession with a private life and a family – she has a son of one and a half years.
After a lively discussion, Susann Bäck, participants and Frankfurt School staff gathered for a get-together and some more informal conversations.
