On December 6, 2017, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management celebrated the first International Day on the new campus with students and staff. Traditionally, the student initiative FS Buddy organises the event together with Frankfurt School’s Student Life team. The International Day is an opportunity for Frankfurt School’s international students to showcase their cultural and culinary heritage and prepare food and beverages from their home. This time eight countries were represented: Barbados, China, Croatia, Egypt, India, Italy, Slovakia and Spain.
Christian Beck from FS Buddy explained that the event was part of an effort to build a bridge between students from different nationalities and to offer support to international students in settling into their life in Frankfurt and meeting new friends. The initiative organises events and outings for Frankfurt School’s guest students who come to the business school for a semester or two.
Maiia Went from Barbados, who is currently studying at Frankfurt School with the Bachelor exchange programme, had been looking forward to International Day: “People usually don’t know much about Barbados, so this is an excellent opportunity to educate people and introduce them to the culture and of course food of my homeland.”
