On Thursday, May 18, 2017, Christian Säuberlich, partner and member of the Management Board of the German consulting firm Andersch AG, visited Frankfurt School of Finance & Management for an Executive Talk at the "Restructuring & Strategic Management Control" course with students from the Master of Finance (M.Sc.) with the Accounting & Advisory Concentration. Christian Säuberlich was accompanied by Julia Klose and Tim Müller, both FS alumni who work at Andersch AG. After an introduction to the company Andersch AG they gave a lecture about restructuring and discussed an in-class case study with the students.
During the Executive Talk the students got many new insights linked to their current lecture topics about restructuring. “The Executive Talk creates a perfect linkage between theory and practice as the three executives provided deep insights into the practice of restructuring advisory”, said Elena Uhink, student of the Master of Finance. David Aberle, also a Master of Finance student, emphasised the great possibility to network with executives of a top level consulting firm.
The day after, on May, 19, Sebastian Bretag, Partner at Baax, gave an Executive Talk for Master of Finance students at Frankfurt School. He presented a case study which was followed by an interactive discussion between students and Baax representatives, who are also Frankfurt School alumni.
“This great experience highly motivated me to continue learning more about this topic in our following lectures”, mentioned Xiang Li, student of the Master of Finance.
"Today we had a really interesting talk, where we learned how a company has to deal in stress situations applying Turnaround Management concepts like identifying the characteristics and causes of a crisis or planning a strategic restructuring that can be implemented in the real world”, said Mauricio Buchovsky, also a Master of Finance student.
The next Executive Talk at Frankfurt School will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Experts from Roland Berger will attend the event.
