On Thursday, June 8, 2017, Falco Weidemeyer, Partner and Chief Restructuring Officer at Roland Berger in Frankfurt, visited Frankfurt School of Finance & Management for an Executive Talk at the “Restructuring & Strategic Management Control” course of Professor Dr Matthias Mahlendorf, Professor of Managerial Accounting at Frankfurt School. Master of Finance students with the Accounting & Advisory Concentration as well as Bachelor of Science students attended the guest lecture. Falco Weidemeyer was accompanied by Tobias Hanspach, Junior Consultant at Roland Berger and Frankfurt School alumnus, and presented a real case he worked on to give insights about restructuring in practice.
Nils Döring, Master of Finance student, enjoyed the lecture. “It is very valuable to get insights on real restructuring cases at first hand. The practical concepts presented by the speaker were very interesting and gave me a better understanding of how a real restructuring process works.”
“Since there is always a slight difference between theory and practice, it is very good to get additional insights from experts working in the field. By the lecture of Roland Berger consultants we got a more practical understanding of restructuring cases”, Abdelaziz El Otmani, Sercan Zaman and Mehdi Kacemi, all students of the Master of Finance at Frankfurt School, agreed on.
The talk was followed by a Q&A session and Falco Weidemeyer and Tobias Hanspach were also available for questions afterwards.
