From Monday, August 28, 2017, to Friday, September 1, 2017, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management welcomed its new students of the Master in Management and Master of Finance programmes with an orientation week. With a record intake of more than 200 students and 31 nationalities, the class of 2019 is the most international group to date. 43 percent of the students hold a non-German passport.
The festivities started at the annual outdoor campus in Westerwald, a mountainous region north-west of Frankfurt, where students had a good opportunity to get to know each other through various team building exercises. Particular highlights of the outdoor campus were the barbeque and party that took place on Monday evening.
This year’s orientation week was also special, as the 2017 intake is the first group of students to be welcomed on Frankfurt School’s new campus. On Wednesday, programme specific orientation was guided by the two Programme Directors Dr Julia Knobbe and Julianne Oswald. Current students of Frankfurt School were invited to share their experiences with the incoming class.
A special introductory session took place for international students, who received a warm welcome from the study advisors at Student Life. Apart from useful information about studying and living in Germany, they were also informed about German language classes offered at Frankfurt School.
On Thursday evening, students enjoyed the official opening ceremony followed by a barbeque.
