On Monday, April 23, 2018, Professor Dr Michael H. Grote, Vice President Academic Affairs and Professor of Corporate Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, welcomed more than 80 scholarship holders across all programmes and classes for a networking breakfast in the Executive Lounge. Thanks to the support of private and corporate donors as well as the Frankfurt School Foundation more than 10 percent of all students receive financial support through a scholarship and the number of scholarships rises every year.
In his welcome address, Professor Grote emphasised the importance of networks and encouraged the students to get in contact with other scholarship holders and sponsors. According to Professor Grote, having a strong network and extending it, is an important asset. He gave the students the advice, to take the opportunity to meet new people at networking events like the breakfast. “Being a scholarship holder is also a responsibility”, Professor Grote continued, and appealed to the students to represent the Frankfurt School spirit. He also encouraged them to think about giving back to ensure that future generations of FS students will be able to receive scholarships as well.
