After winning the regional final of the CFA Institute Research Challenge in February, five students of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management participated in the final round of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in Dublin. From April 4 to 5 the team, including Rok Cerin, Joming Chiang, Johannes Kirchmayr, Luccas Nepomucemu and Ryan Westley, who are all Master of Finance students at Frankfurt School, competed with 40 other groups.

Though the students did not make it to the global finals in Kuala Lumpur, they were all satisfied because of the positive overall result and having gained new experience. “The challenge was a great experience. We had to analyse a very complex company in a high-tech industry which was very difficult. ‎During the Challenge we were supported by an Industry Mentor and a Faculty Mentor from FS. This gave us great insights into equity valuation. We are very proud to represent Frankfurt School in this prestigious competition", says team captain Ryan Westley.

"The CFA Challenge is a very good opportunity for our students to gain relevant experience in the area of corporate valuation and an ideal supplement to our Master of Finance curriculum. We are proud of our students' great track record in this competitive challenge”, emphasises Dr Julia Knobbe, Programme Director of the Master of Finance programme at Frankfurt School.

Since July 2017, Frankfurt School is a member of the “CFA University Affiliation Program”. The business school’s Master of Finance programme has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the programme.
