On Thursday, March 1, 2018, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management had invited students, alumni and guests with an interest in entrepreneurship to join startups and accelerators for the second Startup Night. The mix of panel discussion, career fair and networking event provided ample opportunity to learn more about new ways of funding for entrepreneurs as well as internships and job entry positions with the participating startups. Dr Heike Brost, Vice President and Director Executive Education & Degree Programmes at Frankfurt School, welcomed the guests and was especially happy to see the many alumni, who had returned to their alma mater, to recruit new interns and employees.
The following panel discussion was led by Professor Dr Markus Fitza, Professor for Strategy and Entrepreneurship at Frankfurt School, and included Philipp Schulden, FS Blockchain Center, Lukasz Musialski, Co-Founder and Portfolio Director of Iconiq Lab, Gerrit Sindermann, Head International Business Development & Partnerships at Contovista AG, David Stuck, Associate at bmp Ventures AG, and Andreas Schemm, CEO at Vreo. The participants discussed if cryptocurrencies were changing the way entrepreneurs get funded. Afterwards, 40 startups presented their companies as well as possible job entries and internships.
Dr Marco Masia, Founder and CIO of GoINPHARMA, a website providing global and up-to-date news from the pharma, chemical and health industries in several languages, was looking forward to search for staff at his alma mater: “We are looking for motivated interns and contacts to investors. This is why today’s event is a great opportunity for us”, the alumnus of the EMBA Class of 2017 revealed.
Darius Greulich, who graduated from Frankfurt School’s Master in Management programme in 2017, was hoping to meet new talents interested in a career in E-Commerce: “The market is growing and this means that qualified employees are really sought after, especially in Frankfurt. We are eager to meet some motivated and great people who are interested in a digital business at Startup Night today and maybe receive some interesting applications afterwards.”
