On Wednesday 16 October 2019, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management welcomed students, parents, professors, study supervisors, programme directors and patrons to its annual scholarship celebration. 205 students from bachelor and master programmes were awarded scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year.

Professor Nils Stieglitz welcomed the attendees on behalf of Frankfurt School

Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of Frankfurt School, welcomed attendees. "Today we celebrate our scholarship holders. The aim of Frankfurt School is to increase social mobility. Young talents should study at our business school regardless of their parents' income. That is why we are very grateful to our sponsors".

Professor Jörg Werner, Vice President and Head of Degree Programmes also spoke to guests, highlighting the various funding opportunities at Frankfurt School and emphasising the importance of scholarship holders as role models. "You are being supported due to your good performance. As such, your responsibility – towards yourself, other students and the school – has increased. You are Frankfurt-School ambassadors".

Master in Management student Riccardo Silvestri received this year's DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) prize of more than €1,000.

Donor of the Frankfurt School: Professor Klaus-Peter Müller

Professor Klaus-Peter Müller, Honorary Chairman of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management Foundation and former CEO of Commerzbank AG, presented certificates to this year's recipients of the Klaus-Peter Müller Scholarship Fund. Professor Müller created the fund – for applicants from large families – with over €1million. This year, the scholarship is funding nine students.

Full scholarship: Ardian Foundation supports student

The Ardian Foundation, part of the independent investment company Ardian, attended their scholarship for the first time. Stefan Kappis, FS Alumnus and Senior Investment Manager at Ardian and Fabian Wagener, Managing Director, presented their certificate for a full scholarship to Bachelor of Science student Alisia Gahabka.

Giving back: Scholar speaks about student responsibility

Jaskaran Singh who is studying for a Bachelor of Science spoke of his experiences as a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship holder at Frankfurt School. "In addition to financial support, a scholarship holds a deeper meaning. It is about values ​​and the personal development of every individual. Through the scholarship we should see ourselves as ambassadors of Frankfurt School – we have to give something back to society ". In addition, the scholarship holder emphasised the importance of the honour code as a foundation for living together at FS.
