When it comes to climate change the financial industry plays a key role. Without sustainable finance the world community will not be able to stop the negative impact of fossil fuels and other pollution. Moreover, new laws and regulation force the financial sector to act differently than a few years ago. Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has been focusing on this topic for some time now. The business school is home to two competence centres advising the private sector as well as the public. Furthermore, the topic is part of Frankfurt School´s academic programmes.

That is why the business school is participating in the Global Climate Change Week 2019, an initiative that aims to encourage academic communities to raise awareness about Climate Change actions and its solutions. The initiative was founded by the University of Wollongong in 2015.

From 14 to 18 October, Frankfurt School experts will hold three brown-bag seminars in order to demonstrate the institution’s activities in the field. Professor Dr Ulf Moslener, Professor for Sustainable Energy Finance as well as Head of Research for FS-UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance at Frankfurt School, will start the series and talk about the Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment Report 2019. The report shows global investment in new renewable energy capacity over the last decade.
