On 21 September 2019, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) published its latest ranking of Germany's most influential economists. For 2019, FAZ has revised its ranking scheme. Several factors now count for the ranking position: impulses for science, activities in political consulting, mentions in media as well as social media activities.

Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner

Prof. Dr. Philipp Sandner of the Frankfurt School ranks 29th in this ranking and thus is one of the most influential economists in Germany. His academic publications and media presence in particular were rated as "influential“. Last year, Philipp Sandner also ranked among the top 30 economists by FAZ. "I am very honored to represent the Frankfurt School in the FAZ ranking for the second year in a row," says Philipp Sandner.
