The FS-UNEP Centre, a strategic cooperation between UN Environment and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, is Frankfurt School’s in-house think-and-do-tank for climate and sustainable energy finance. We are seeking to recruit a full-time Project Coordinator (f/m/x) supporting our growing sustainable energy finance portfolio. This position will initially be limited for the duration of 24 months.

Your tasks
  • support the team in acquisition of new projects including identification of opportunities, compiling expressions of interest, technical and financial offers;
  • project management (regular exchanges and coordination with project experts and partners, drafting project reports, reviewing and approving contracts, active participation in meetings and events);
  • analytical work (market and financial analysis and ability to implement computer based models to analyse balance sheets, calculate key financial ratios, and make proactive recommendations in drafting loan documentation and security arrangements);
  • short term expert assignments (feasibility studies, provision of trainings or short term technical contributions to on-going projects);
  • procurement management (tender coordination, calculation of project budgets, preparation of procurement and tender documents, etc.);
  • social and professional networking to identify and source project partners;
  • support Project Teams in technical project design of consulting and training projects or financing programmes;
  • support the Senior Project Manager in development of new consulting concepts and products respectively support of product design.
Your profile
  • University degree in finance, banking, economics, development, engineering;
  • experience in offering technical expertise and assistance to partner institutions;
  • experience in renewable energy and/or cleantech;
  • at least 3 years working experience in banking, in international consulting in the banking / finance sector or in a respective corporate environment;
  • professional experience in project management; ideally in an international environment;
  • agility, diligence, creativity, and strong work ethics required as you will work on multiple projects across countries, sectors, and clients;
  • interest in working in financial sector advisory projects in emerging and developing countries;
  • excellent analytical and conceptual skills with an affinity to quantitative and data-driven approaches;
  • strong communication skills and in particular writing skills. Ability to succinctly and intelligently formulate analyses and recommendations based on independent research;
  • strong capacity for teamwork, but also ability to work independently;
  • motivation, creativity, flexibility, international mobility, and ability to work under time pressure;
  • fluent in English (working language); skills in Arabic, French, Russian, Portuguese, or Spanish is an advantage.
