We invite applications for a faculty position as Professor of Regulatory Law (open rank).

The position is located in the Department of Philosophy and Law, with a research focus in regulatory law.  The successful candidate will join the new Frankfurt Competence Centre for German and Global Regulation (FCCR).  The FCCR is an interdisciplinary research centre drawing together economists, lawyers, and social scientists to advance our strategic understanding of the general principles of regulation – in terms of procedures, entitlements, and ongoing assessments – best suited to our rapidly changing world.  The FCCR aspires to become the foremost institute for the study of corporate regulation, establish the premier forum for discussion and debate of competing approaches to regulation, and offer expert assessments of their trade-offs in legal, economic, and broader societal terms.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of, and international recognition for, excellent research and teaching in the field of regulatory law / cross-sectoral principals of regulation, with a focus on German regulation and German public law and experience in interdisciplinary projects.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in teaching introductory and advanced courses in law and is expected to develop courses in his or her area of specialization within regulatory law.  Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to represent the FCCR to its sponsors, members of the scientific advisory board, public officials and corporate officers. Successful acquisition of third-party funding is an advantage. Candidates must have completed a degree in law, with honors, and hold a PhD with honors to apply. A venia legendi in public law would be very desirable.
