On Tuesday, March 8, 2018, Asiya S. Mohammed, student of the Executive MBA at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, was invited by the female network Women@DB to give a speech to celebrate International Women’s Day at Deutsche Bank. Asiya Mohammed is a social entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Conflict Women, Trinidad and Tobago. In her speech “The Courage to Challenge the Status Quo” she encouraged female participants to break new grounds and reported about her journey to social entrepreneurship. In 2014, she founded Conflict Women, an initiative that trains women who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse and financially empowers them with a monthly income in exchange for handcrafted jewelry.
