Schedule & Planning

Schedule & Planning

Is it possible to finish the EMBA programme after more than the usual 18 months?

The advertised study duration of 18 months has been calculated to ensure all modules can be delivered in the most effective way. However, should a situation present itself which impacts your ability to attend or complete one of the modules, we can discuss the possibility of retaking that module the following year. Please note, that this only applies in exceptional circumstances, but we will certainly try to find solutions should urgent matters arise in your professional or personal life. .

What does the schedule of the Executive MBA look like?

The Frankfurt School Executive MBA is designed to fit into a compact time model that is respectful of busy agendas, minimizes time away from the office and allows for a balanced education. The Executive MBA is a part time programme that allows you to remain employed while studying with us. It is conducted over 18 months and usually takes place at the campus in Frankfurt (as an option you can currently join classes online due to COVID-19). Classroom attendance is required only on very few occasions: 1 EMBA opening event late September (1x Friday - Sunday), 3 block weeks (3x Monday - Saturday) and 14 extended weekends (14x Friday - Sunday).

What is the ratio between self-study and professor led learning?

You will be attending 15 weekends and 3 block weeks on campus. In between the modules, you will be working on group assignments, individual case studies and preparing presentations and readings for the upcoming modules. It is recommended to plan your time carefully and commit fully to the courses. However, we do appreciate that students need to balance family and work life alongside their studies.

Application Process

I would like to apply - Am I a good fit for the EMBA?

We are happy to have a consultation call with you and/or complete a CV check.

Do you have any advice/ examples for the motivational letter or scholarship application?

Please focus on personal and relevant motivations in your letter. Share your goals and ambitions with us and state why you think Frankfurt School would be the right place for you to enhance your career. We are looking for ambitious and determined students who want to accelerate their careers. Be yourself and communicate this motivation.

Will the university assist in getting a residence permit during the study period?

Please note that the Executive MBA is a part-time programme and therefore we cannot provide you a visa letter for a student visa.

I sent my application. What happens next?

Admissions will review your application thoroughly. Please be patient as this usually takes a few days. We will then get back to you with further information regarding the next steps available.

What is an Assessment Center and what does it look like for the EMBA?

Our Assessment Centers take place on fixed dates throughout the year. Please select which date best fits your schedule when you complete your application. On that specified date, we will arrange an interview and you will be required to take part in a group exercise. You will also get the chance to talk to an EMBA Alumnus.

What happens after the Assessment Center?

After the Assessment Center, Frankfurt School will hold a private Admissions Committee where all candidates are reviewed and assessed for their suitability for the programme.

When will I know whether I am admitted?

Approximately two days after the admissions committee, your admissions officer will contact you regarding the final decision.

Financing and Scholarship

Financing and Scholarship

Does Frankfurt School provide scholarships?

We offer partial merit-based scholarships to outstanding applicants including international students and women in business. We pursue a holistic approach in the scholarship process. Frankfurt School will check all applicants on an individual basis and consider all aspects of the application (including work and management experience, academic achievements, test results, language skills, international experience, and interview performance).

How can I apply for a scholarship?

To apply, please complete the scholarship section within the online application. There are no other requirements for the scholarship. Every applicant can apply for it within their application.

I have applied for a Scholarship. When will I know if I have been awarded a certain amount?

We hold a Scholarship meeting where we discuss the amounts requested by applicants and whether they are eligible for the FS Scholarship. Please note that our Scholarships are merit-based and not need-based. For the Executive MBA the scholarship funds are very limited as our students usually stay in full-time employment.

Does the tuition fee include accommodation at the university campus and travel arrangements?

The fee includes all learning materials but does not include travel and accommodation costs. You will need to arrange your own accommodation. However, our study advisor will be able to support you and can provide options.

I was not accepted. Can I re-apply?

Yes! We always encourage our applicants to reapply. It could be that more employment or managerial experience is needed, so an additional year in industry would only enhance your application.

I was accepted, but I cannot make it this intake. Can I defer?

Yes. You may defer once and will not need to re-apply. Later, we will then hold a Deferral Committee for the following intake to discuss all the candidates again as well as their scholarship requirements.

I was accepted, which documents will I have to sign?

First and foremost, you will need to sign the Contract (Pages 5 & 6 need to be sent back to us.) You will also have to sign the Enrolment Application as well as The Declaration of Undertaking if you were awarded with a scholarship.

Until when do I have to sign and return everything?

We will give you a 3-week deadline. Please note that you are also welcome to send everything back beforehand.

What insurance will I need and how can I provide that information?

Please follow this link for further information on the topic.

I need a visa. What do I have to do?

Please refer to your embassy with that question.
