Agricultural Finance Track

Inclusive Finance Summer Academy

Overview

The Agricultural Finance course objective is to build the capacity of financial institutions to lend to agribusiness enterprises and expand their agribusiness loan portfolios. The course covers three main topics: agribusiness and agri-sector fundamentals, agribusiness credit analysis and agricultural value chain finance. At the end of the course, the participants will have a thorough understanding of agriculture sector and agribusiness units, understand the principles of developing value chain financial partnerships and apply the concepts of credit analysis through understanding agricultural risk management.

Target Group

The course targets agriculture finance practitioners from all kind of financial institutions, such as field staff (agribusiness relationship officers, loan analysts), mid-level management and any other staff involved in the agribusiness underwriting process.

Administrative Details

The tuition fee for the trainings is EUR 4,300 and it covers all training materials and full-board accommodation in single rooms for the duration of training including meals as well as transportation for site visits.

The Summer Academies are fully tuition based and not sponsored. Accordingly, participants have to cover the full costs of the training or find a sponsor.

Location

The Summer Academy will be held at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Our training rooms are equipped with the newest technology and the newest media to provide flexibility and quality in our training courses. We have a strong focus on the wellbeing of our guests and course participants, a good training environment, air quality and modern equipment.

Language

The language of instruction will be English and no translation will be provided.

Scholarships for the Summer Academy

Frankfurt School International Advisory Services provides funding for partial scholarships covering maximum 30% of the course fees for applicants meeting the eligibility requirements. Scholarship applicant should submit the duly completed scholarship application form (the form is attached) to summeracademy@fs.de after completing the online registration via website.

Course Lecturer

Roxana Savescu

has 10 years banking sector experience in rural and SME lending as well as financial analysis. Mrs. Savescu is a University assistant professor at University Lucian Blaga in Sibiu, Romania. She participated in the process of developing and launch of new credit products for rural areas. Roxana has more than 20 years of experience in training and is an internationally renowned expert in agricultural finance.
