ACCREDITATIONS
National and international accreditations are essential to Frankfurt School’s quality management system and confirm the high standards that our institution and study programmes strive for and maintain.
Accreditation refers to the external review of an institution, its programmes and activities with regard to quality assurance and quality development.
Accreditation procedures provide our university with the opportunity for critical self-analysis and generally consist of a self-assessment, an academic peer review process and an evaluation of strategic plans. These procedures create incentives for improvements and offer the opportunity for consultation with external experts.
International Accreditations
Frankfurt School is among the 1% of business schools worldwide accredited by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. Together, these three accreditations are commonly referred to as the ‘Triple Crown’ — a distinction held by only a select group of institutions worldwide. This recognition underscores Frankfurt School’s academic excellence and its contribution to society.

AACSB Frankfurt School was accredited by AACSB International in 2014 and most recently reaccredited in 2024. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools, as well as the largest business education network connecting students, educators and businesses worldwide.

AMBA Frankfurt School was accredited by AMBA in 2018 and most recently reaccredited in 2023. The Association of MBAs (AMBA) was established in 1967 with the aim to raise the profile of business education and the MBA qualification. Its accreditation service is the global standard for all MBA, DBA and Master's degrees.
EQUIS Frankfurt School was accredited by EQUIS in 2014 and most recently reaccredited in 2022. EQUIS accreditation was launched in 1997 by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), a leading international network of business schools and companies at the forefront of raising the standards of management education and development globally.
National Accreditations
German Council of Science and Humanities: in January 2010, Frankfurt School obtained a ten-year accreditation by the Wissenschaftsrat (German Council of Science and Humanities), the longest possible period. It was reaccredited in October 2022.

Accreditation by the Wissenschaftsrat is required for all private universities in Germany. This institutional accreditation is a quality assurance process intended to determine if a non-state higher education institution provides services in teaching and research that meet established scientific and academic criteria.

Universities prove quality assurance systems and adherence to set standards to grant accredited status to their programmes. Frankfurt School was accredited by the German Accreditation Council in July 2015 and reaccredited in October 2021. The assessments conducive to these awards were performed by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), a German accreditation agency for quality assurance and quality development in management education. System Accreditation by the German Accreditation Council is an important seal of approval for Frankfurt School’s internal quality assurance system and the overall quality of the business school’s academic programmes.
