Christine Tiefensee

Professor of Philosophy

Christine Tiefensee is Professor of Philosophy at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, where she also serves as Academic Director of the B.Sc. programme Management, Philosophy & Economics (MPE).

She holds an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. Her primary research focuses on the foundations of normativity, with related interests at the intersection of philosophy, political science and theories of rationality. Her work has appeared in leading international journals, including Noûs, The Journal of Philosophy, Philosophical Studies, Synthese, Analysis, and Oxford Studies in Metaethics.

She is an Associate Editor for Analysis, a member of the editorial panel for Thought, and serves on selection committees for national and international research awards. From 2016 to 2022, she was Vice President of the German Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP).

Together with Professor Sebastian Köhler and Professor Derek Baker, she co-organises the annual FrankMeta and MetaFS conference series.

In 2018, she received the Frankfurt School Teaching Award in recognition of her outstanding teaching performance.
