Professor of Finance
Francesco Sangiorgi is Professor of Finance at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He was previously an Associate Professor of Finance (with tenure) at the Stockholm School of Economics and held the same position at the Frankfurt School prior to his current role. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and obtained an undergraduate degree in Economics from LUISS University in Rome.
His research primarily focuses on the economics of information as it applies to financial markets, covering asset pricing, market microstructure, and the dynamics between financial markets and corporate decision-making. His work has been published in leading journals in Economics, Finance, and Management, including the Review of Economic Studies, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and Management Science.
He has taught courses in financial economics, asset pricing, and investment management in Master of Science, Ph.D., and executive programs at institutions such as the Stockholm School of Economics, the London School of Economics, and HEC Paris. He has also held visiting positions at institutions including the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the London School of Economics, the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance, and HEC Paris.
