The part-time online study programme leading to the qualification “Specialist in Digitalisation” is designed for professionals working in commercial or administrative fields who wish to further develop their skills in times of digital transformation.
Graduates gain the ability to understand the fundamentals of digitalisation and the necessity of digital transformation, and to apply this knowledge in their professional practice.
Thanks to its well-structured study plan – with lectures taking place on half-day Saturdays and selected weekday evenings – the programme can be easily combined with full-time employment.
The curriculum provides digital competencies alongside fundamental knowledge of business administration.

Attractive progression options
With your qualification as a Specialist in Digitalisation, you have the opportunity to apply for our part-time Bachelor of Arts (lateral entry) programme. If you meet all the admission requirements and successfully complete the selection process, you can obtain an academic degree in a reduced period of time. Alternatively, you may also choose to enter directly into our Business Economist programme.

- Part-time online programme: Participate in live lectures regardless of location
- Degree from a leading European business school & experienced lecturers from practice, academia, and research
- Annual company workshop called Experience Digitalisation Live (partners include SAP, IBM, COEO, Universal Robots).
- Digital Mindset: In cooperation with Onestoptransformation, students develop their own digitalisation profile at the start of the programme.
- Continue with the Business Economist programme or, if eligible, enter the part-time B.A. in Business Administration via lateral entry.

Admission Requirements
As an applicant, you can be admitted if you meet the following criteria:
- Completed training in a commercial or administrative profession and 2 years of professional experience at the end of the course, or
- At least four years of professional experience in commercial or administrative activities (proof required)
- Other qualifications subject to individual assessment.
Curriculum
The curriculum combines digital literacy with business management expertise and empowers students to actively shape and implement digital transformation. All courses are taught by experienced professionals who contribute their practical expertise directly from the field. In the first semester, students acquire a fundamental understanding of digital technologies and economic contexts. Building on this, they learn how to effectively design digital collaboration, use systems in a targeted manner, and apply legal frameworks such as data protection with confidence. In the following semesters, they deepen their knowledge of data analysis, process management, and the economic evaluation of digital solutions—and by the end, they are able to strategically manage digital business processes and develop companies in a future-oriented manner.

Funding opportunities
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s Weiterbildungsstipendium (continuing education scholarship) supports young professionals after successfully completing vocational training. Application requirements include, among others, excellent results in the final vocational examination and admission up to the age of 24. Further information is available from the Stiftung Begabtenförderung berufliche Bildung GmbH.
Employers often support the professional development of their employees – whether through financial subsidies, additional vacation days, or time off for study. It is best to check directly with your HR department about possible support options. Many companies welcome initiative and are happy to invest in developing the digital skills of their staff.

The program does not prepare students for an IHK qualification, but offers a university-level, academically recognized degree with 60 ECTS credits, which opens up opportunities for further study throughout Europe.
