Willemien Libois

Ms.Willemien Libois has a vast amount of experience in the management of Microfinance and SME Banks in developing countries and countries in transition. She has also completed several feasibility studies to establish microfinance and SME Banks in Africa, where she has gained an extensive understanding of the continent’s SME finance sector. Ms. Libois has successfully managed the newly established Microfinance Bank in Angola and proven excellent skills in leading, training and coaching credit staff. Additionally, she developed new loan products and supervised the branch management.  She has extensive and excellent experience in the management of microfinance banks in post-war development countries and countries in transition, a strong track-record of SME downscaling projects with banks and the implementation of TA programmes related to SME Credit lines; Extensive understanding of best practice SME lending, including cash-flow oriented lending methodology, development of new products and training of staff. 
Ms. Libois is the Director of IAS' regional office in Nairobi.
