
External lecturer for the modules “Introduction to Statistics I” and “Introduction to Statistics II” for the Foundation Year

We are seeking a qualified and experienced lecturer to teach the modules “Introduction to Statistics I” in the winter semester 2026/27 and “Introduction to Statistics II” in the summer semester 2027 in the Foundation Year.
The Foundation Year is a two-semester programme aimed at preparing the students for subsequent Bachelor of Science studies at Frankfurt School. The mathematics modules are designed to equip the Foundation Year students with solid mathematical skills to enable them to excel in their subsequent bachelor’s studies at Frankfurt School.
The successful candidate for this lecturer position will be enthusiastic to help our young and diverse student demographic to develop their skills in mathematics.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and further develop Foundation Year mathematics courses
- Ensure that course materials and instruction align with departmental goals and objectives
- Conduct engaging and interactive lessons
- Design appropriate assessments, review and correct them and provide individualized feedback
- Provide individualized attention and support to students to help them achieve their learning goals
Requirements:
- Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
- Proficiency in English
- A solid understanding of the applications of statistics in business/economics
- 3+ years of teaching experience, preferably at an undergraduate level
- Ability to explain statistical concepts and calculations in a comprehensible manner
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to meet the needs of a heterogeneous student demographic
- Strong commitment to student success and academic excellence
- Team spirit and cooperation with university administration and faculty members

The Foundation Year is taught fully on campus.

Time Period:
Winter semester: 01 September 2026 – mid-January 2027
Summer semester: 25 January – mid-June 2027
Teaching Load:
2 groups, each with 6 teaching units per week (1 teaching unit = 45 minutes), 12 weeks per semester
