IFRS Academy: Qualification programme aligned with the CFO agenda
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN TAX AND FINANCIAL CONSULTING
- Certificate
- Programmes Duration: 2 months
- Format: Online
A career development programme that is well thought-out, modern and strategically designed: in addition to building professional expertise, the focus is also on employer branding: the aim is for continuing education to become a brand-strengthening differentiator in the competition for talent.
THE IDEA
WTS Advisory is part of WTS, a global full-service provider of tax consulting and complementary financial advisory services.
As a non-auditing consultant, WTS Advisory supports companies in various industries across the entire CFO agenda – from deal advisory to reporting & regulatory to ESG and digital finance. Employees need in-depth expertise at the level of certified public accountants in order to provide clients with high-quality and regulatory-compliant advice. Against the backdrop of growing demands on financial advisory services – particularly in the areas of accounting and IFRS – WTS Advisory wants to put its continuing education strategy on a new footing.
THE PROJECT ASSIGNMENT
WTS Advisory has commissioned Frankfurt School to design a modular, practice-oriented continuing education format that is based on the requirements of auditing and at the same time takes into account the specific needs of consulting. The programme is to start in 2025 as IFRS Academy – similar to the already established ESG Academy – and will form a multi-year qualification programme for consultants.
OBJECTIVES
- Strengthening IFRS expertise with reference to typical mandates
- Part-time, tiered learning programme with a focus on transfer
- Visible qualification with a certificate from the Frankfurt School
- Positioning as an innovative employer with a clear learning culture

THE LEARNING JOURNEY
The IFRS Academy has a modular structure and is divided into topic-specific learning units, which are taught across three didactic phases per module:
- Self-study phase
Online units offer a theoretical introduction to a topic. Participants learn at their own pace and with flexible scheduling. - Practical and case study phase
Participants work independently or in groups on real case studies that reflect typical consulting situations. The aim is to apply specialist knowledge to client contexts. - Live online sessions & reflection
In moderated sessions, case study results are presented, feedback is given and practical implications are discussed. The professional exchange promotes networking and collegial consulting skills.
COMPLETION, CONTINUATION AND FEEDBACK
The conclusion together with the management and the connection to an alumni network strengthen the cohort community and enable graduates to engage as peers in the future and be part of the company-wide network.
