Generation Contract, Student Loans and Funds

For Frankfurt School students, the following financing options are primarily available:

  • Income Share Agreement (also known as a Generation Contract) provided by Brain Capital
(for students from Germany, the EU, as well as international students from other countries who hold an unlimited residence permit)
  • KfW Student Loan
(for students from Germany and so-called “Bildungsinländer” (e.g. those who obtained their school-leaving certificate in Germany)
  • Prodigy Finance
(for international students who wish to study a Master’s or MBA program at Frankfurt School and who have not been residing in Germany up to 90 days before the start of their studies)

Please note that there are special financial aid programs for students from the United States, as well as additional country-specific funding opportunities, in particular student loans from students’ home countries.

Brain Capital Income Share Agreements (ISA)

Brain Capital offers students of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management a flexible and fair financing option based on an Income Share Agreement (ISA) – also known as Generation Contract model.

The principle: study first, pay later based on income. Students do not pay their tuition fees during their studies, but only after entering the workforce – and only if they reach a defined minimum income level. This ensures that studying remains accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial background.

How the Brain Capital Financing Model (ISA) works

Advantages of ISA

• Study without tuition fees:
A Brain Capital student funding company covers the tuition fees (in full or in part) and pays them directly to the university.

• Fair payments after graduation:
Only after graduation and once an annual income of more than €30,000 is reached, graduates pay a fixed percentage of their income for a maximum of 10 years – fully flexible and adapted to their individual life situation.

• Solidarity for future generations:
The payments flow back into the student funding company, creating a sustainable financing cycle that benefits everyone.

• Full freedom and security:
No debt, no fixed installments. Your payments are income-based and are waived if the minimum income threshold is not reached. This also gives you full flexibility in planning your life (e.g. pursuing a master’s degree or taking parental leave).

Eligibility Requirements for Funding by Brain Capital

  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or MBA program at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
  • Citizenship of a member state of the European Union

Please note that Frankfurt School’s Master’s and MBA programs will only appear on the Prodigy Finance website from March onwards, as our degree programs start in the fall semester.

Repayment generally begins six months after graduation. Early repayments are possible at any time without additional charges. The average repayment period is approximately 4.5 years.
