Torsten Becker

Mr. Torsten Becker is an economist with focus on development/energy finance and international relations. He has supported the implementation of several energy efficiency financing programmes in Southeast European banks (Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Turkey). His tasks cover a broad range of technical assistance, from market analysis and strategy/product development to project pipeline building and staff trainings. Mr. Becker has furthermore worked on project feasibility studies in China (green finance in urban infrastructure; climate innovation finance for SMEs). Within the Frankfurt School – UNEP Collaborating Centre for Climate & Sustainable Energy Finance, Mr. Becker is responsible for the design and implementation of FACET in Southeast Asia. In cooperation with local banks and MFIs, FACET aims at financing clean energy technologies (such as solar home systems and biogas digesters) for end-users.
