Core Expertise
Adaptation & Disaster Risk Finance
Working with public and private sector actors, we provide solutions for the management of climate and environment-related risks through national frameworks and institutional strategies, operations and products. We work to develop new or adjusted financial services or products that facilitate climate adaptation and the strengthening of long-term resilience. For residual risks, disaster risk management provisions are considered, including insurance solutions.
Climate Mitigation
We partner with financial institutions to implement energy efficiency financing programs that are designed to address significant climate mitigation (as well as adaptation challenges) by encouraging the private sector to invest in green and innovative technologies that promote energy, water and material efficiency solutions as well as renewable energy.
Circular Economy
We work with public and private sector sectors to identify finance-related challenges and possible solutions in achieving the transition to a circular economy. We adopt a systemic perspective in our approach, paying close attention to broader framework conditions, including regulatory, and the build-up of intelligence, knowledge and awareness of the specific characteristics of circularity.

Biodiversity & Nature
Through systematic research and capacity building programmes, we aim to mainstream biodiversity in the lending and investment decisions of financial institutions. Building on our specialised expertise, we also design and implement programmes that enable the protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems.
Our Frankfurt School Certified Expert in Biodiversity Finance course enables financial sectors to deepen their understanding of risks associated with biodiversity loss as well as knowledge and tools needed to support the preservation of Earth's diverse ecosystems as financial actors.
Transition Finance
We aim to embed sustainability in the daily operations and strategic decisions of financial institutions. From climate-related financial risks, regulatory expectations, decarbonisation strategies to disclosure reporting, we adopt a pragmatic approach with clear, actionable insights and support to enable financial institutions in their journey to achieve a just and inclusive transition.
Green Urban Finance
We work closely with cities in developing financing solutions to achieve climate neutrality. We adopt a comprehensive approach to enhancing municipalities’ access to finance while identifying opportunities and risks in investment areas related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable urban planning as well as circular economy principles.
