Sebastian Köhler ist Associate Professor für Philosophie an der Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Dort lehrt er im Bachelor in Management, Philosophy, and Economics, im Bachelor in Computational Business Analytics und im Master of Applied Data Science. Er ist ebenfalls der Organisator des FS Philosophy Forums an der Frankfurt School. Bevor er zur Frankfurt School kam, war Köhler Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Universität Duisburg-Essen und Lecturer an der Princeton University. Ein großer Teil von Köhlers bisheriger Forschung konzentriert sich auf metaethische Fragen rund um Normativität, an der Schnittstelle zur Philosophie des Geistes und der Sprachphilosophie. Außerdem beschäftigt sich Köhler derzeit mit ethischen Fragen bezogen auf neue Informationstechnologien. Köhlers Forschung wurde in international führenden Fachzeitschriften wie The Journal of PhilosophyEthicsAustralasian Journal of Philosophy, Philosophical Studies, The Philosophical Quarterly, Erkenntnis und Ratio veröffentlicht.
