Stevos Forschung fällt in den Bereich der Verhaltensstrategie. Das Hauptziel seiner Forschung ist es, die Theorie des strategischen Managements auf realistische Annahmen über menschliche Kognition und soziales Verhalten zu begründen. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, verbindet er kognitive und soziale Psychologie mit strategischem Management. Er untersucht, wie sozio-kognitive Verzerrungen und soziale Interaktionen zwischen Führungskräften und Geschäftsführern strategische Entscheidungsprozesse und Ergebnisse beeinflussen. Seine Arbeiten wurden in führenden Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht, darunter im Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Annals, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Strategy Science und Harvard Business Review.
