Since current stored-program digital computers are about to hit fundamental boundaries with respect to energy consumption, integration density, and clock frequency, different computational paradigms are needed to overcome these limits.
Analog computers offer unmatched computational power at equally unmatched energy efficiency for certain problem classes and will complement future digital computers as coprocessors, forming hybrid computers. As such, analog computers will see widespread application in areas such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and many more.
Due to recent progress in hardware and software development, hybrid computers now seamlessly integrate into classical digital systems with powerful compiler and library support.
The goal of this event is to bring together researchers, practitioners, and investors to advance the state-of-the-art in analog computing and related computational paradigms.
In addition to scientific presentations, practitioner contributions, and a poster session, we will also host a hackathon featuring state-of-the-art hybrid computer systems.
