Assistant Professor of Managerial Accounting

Hari Ramasubramanian is an Assistant Professor of Managerial Accounting at the Frankfurt School. He holds a PhD in Accounting (2021) from Michigan State University. He was a Deloitte Doctoral Fellow during 2019-2021. Hari has an undergraduate and graduate degree in Accounting from University of Mumbai, India and is an Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) since 2010 and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) since April 2017. He scored the highest marks in CMA exam held in Feb 2017 and was also an All India Rank Holder in CAPE-I (May 2004) and CAPE-II (Nov 2005).

Prior to joining the PhD program in 2016, Hari worked at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance and co-founded Raising a Mathematician Foundation (RAMF), where he headed the academic affairs. He was also an instructor for students pursuing Chartered Accountancy (CA) in India. He has a rich experience in the education sector and has taught preparatory courses from school level to Master's level. Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recognized his services in the field of education in 2015.

His research focuses on how firms can use a variety of control instruments to enhance organizational and employee outcomes. In particular, his research topics include cost management, performance measurement, and fraud enforcement mechanisms.

He has presented at many international conferences and published in journals such as Journal of Accounting and Economics, Contemporary Accounting Research, Issues in Accounting Education, and Journal of Medical Internet Research.
