This allows you to combine your studies with valuable practical experience – either with one of our cooperation partner (German language skills are required) or a company of your choice. You can apply what you learn directly in a professional environment, gain hands-on experience and start building your career while you study.

At Frankfurt School, you will develop your skills step by step – from technical, mathematical and business fundamentals to AI, data, system architectures and digital business processes. LEARNING GOALS

Graduates will possess deep knowledge and a critical understanding of the mathematical, computational, and business foundations required to analyse, design, and implement modern computational models and software systems.

  • Learning objective 1.1: Students will demonstrate a rigorous understanding of core mathematical and computational foundations.
  • Learning objective 1.2: Students will be able to design, analyse, and implement computational models and software systems from first principles. They are able to evaluate algorithmic complexity, correctness, scalability, and trade-offs across different system architectures.

Graduates will be able to analyse, design, implement, integrate, and evaluate traditional as well as AI-based information systems that support organisational processes and data-driven decision-making. They will be able to locate, interpret, and critically evaluate scientific literature, technical documentation, and professional standards, and integrate relevant findings into their own work and reasoning.

  • Learning objective 2.1: Students will be able to analyse organisational processes and information needs, model enterprise data and workflows, and explain how enterprise systems support, integrate, and transform business functions.
  • Learning objective 2.2: Students will be able to integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence components into information systems and digital workflows, evaluating such systems with respect to performance, transparency, security, governance, maintainability, and business value.

Admission Requirements

To apply for the Bachelor in Business Information Systems Engineering, you need to meet the following requirements.

  1. Recognised school-leaving certificate (e.g. German Abitur, Fachabitur, IB Diploma, US High School Diploma, A-Levels, European Baccalaureate or equivalent). You do not need your final school-leaving certificate for your application; your most recent two upper secondary school reports are sufficient for the initial application. Once you have passed your final exams, you can submit your final certificate at a later stage.
  2. Alternative school-leaving qualification: If you are completing a secondary qualification not listed above, please consult the DAAD website for the relevant requirements. Please note that these requirements are subject to change.
  3. Proof of Required English Language Skills: As we have incorporated an English language test into our Assessment Centre, you are not required to submit an English certificate with your application. If you do not meet the English language requirements at our AC, we will contact you to discuss further options.
  4. Successful completion of our online Assessment Centre: The Assessment Centre, which includes a mathematics test, a cognitive test, an English test and an interview.

ASSESSMENT CENTRE

Once you have ensured that you meet the admission requirements for the Bachelor in Business Information Systems Engineering and took a look at our application checklist, you can start your application via our online application form. 

You will need to upload the following supporting documents:

  • A Recognised secondary school diploma* (Abitur, IB Diploma, US High School Diploma, A-Levels, European Baccalaureate, etc.) 
  • An optional letter of motivation (maximum 500 words)
  • A Curriculum Vitae (CV, résumé)
  • A copy of your passport or ID card
  • Additional documents, if applicable (e.g. references or letters of recommendation, certificates, awards, extracurricular activities)

*Please note that payment of the EUR 100 application fee is required before your application can be processed.

At Frankfurt School, there is no numerus clausus (NC). Successful applicants will be invited to an Online Assessment Centre (AC). 

We operate rolling admissions, allowing you to receive an admission decision before the application deadline.

If you do not meet the general admission requirements, you may still be eligible to apply under a recent change in German law. Please contact us for further information.

You can select the AC date that suits you best as part of your application. 

The following dates are currently available:

The online Assessment Center consists of four parts:

  • Mathematics test
  • Cognitive test
  • English test
  • Structured interview

For the assessment, you will need a non-programmable calculator, regardless of brand or model.

In addition to your test results, your motivation and commitment are key factors in the admission decision. All Assessment Centre sessions are conducted online. Please note that your application must be submitted at least two weeks before your preferred Assessment Centre date.

Frankfurt School offers a merit-based scholarship programme designed to ensure that talented students from diverse backgrounds can focus on their studies without financial concerns. The Diversity Scholarship Programme aims to promote diversity within the Bachelor of Science student body and provides tuition fee reductions of 15%, 25%, or 50%. Students recommended for a German Merit Foundation scholarship receive fast-track BSc admission, completing only an online application, an interview, and a language proficiency test. They receive 50% tuition off, rising to 75% from semester 3 if accepted by the Foundation.

BISE graduates are intended to become technically and managerially capable interface persons between IT and business in the age of AI. They will be able to analyse organisational needs, understand technical possibilities and constraints, translate between stakeholder groups, and contribute to the design, implementation, management, and governance of enterprise systems in larger organisations. In AI-influenced work settings, this interface role becomes more important: organisations need people who can evaluate which AI-enabled systems create value, where they introduce risks, and how they can be embedded responsibly into processes, architectures, and work practices.

We recommend applying as early as possible, and no later than 30 June. Applications submitted after this date will be considered if places remain available. You don’t need your final school certificate yet – your last two transcripts are sufficient. Assessment Centre dates are offered regularly throughout the year.

If you’d like to study with one of our corporate partners, you need to apply both to Frankfurt School and directly to the company. Most companies recruit a year in advance, so early application is key. Our team is happy to support you throughout the process.
