External lecturer for the Foundation Year module “Professional Competencies for Leadership and Collaboration”

We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated external lecturer (freelance basis) to teach the module “Professional Competencies for Leadership and Collaboration” (summer semester 2027) in the Foundation Year at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

The two-semester Foundation Year taught entirely in English caters to students who would like to get a solid foundation before moving on to undergraduate studies in business, management or economics. It prepares students academically for the rigour of undergraduate studies at Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. 

Brief description of the module:

This module introduces students to the essential competencies required for effective leadership and collaboration in academic and professional contexts. Beginning with personal self-awareness and communication fundamentals, the course progresses through teamwork foundations, diversity and ethics, emotional intelligence, motivation, leadership, decision making, and conflict management. Students will further explore stress & resilience, professional communication manners, negotiation skills, and applied collaboration under real-world pressure.

The course fosters professional skills such as self-reflection, responsible leadership, communication, teamwork and problem solving, preparing students for future success in academic and workplace environments.

• Communication in professional contexts
• Group dynamics and teamwork
• Individual behaviour, emotions, attitudes at work
• Motivation and engagement
• Leadership fundamentals
• Conflict, negotiation, power dynamics
• Organizational culture, development, and change
• Work-life balance and the science of well-being

Your responsibilities:

• Develop and teach a pre-university level course that equips students with communication, self-management and leadership skills
• Create engaging and interactive lesson plans and assessments, utilizing e.g. interactive lectures, group exercises, reflective practices, simulations and case studies
• Ensure that course materials and instruction align with departmental goals and objectives
• Provide individualized attention and support to students to help them achieve their learning goals

Your qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher in Business Psychology, Psychology, or a related field
• Strong background in organizational behavior, human resource management, and leadership
• Experience teaching the subject to young adults
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commitment to student success and academic excellence
• Ability to work effectively as part of a structured educational programme

Location: 

• Campus Frankfurt am Main
• The Foundation Year is taught fully on campus. 
• Please note that Frankfurt School cannot offer any relocation allowance nor cover accommodation costs for this position.

Time Period:

Summer semester: 25 January – mid-June 2027 (including time for exam correction)

Teaching Load:

• 2 groups, each with 4 teaching units per week (1 teaching unit = 45 minutes)
• 12 weeks of instruction + exam period
