Students work on a Case Study with Eintracht Frankfurt

On 18 and 19 September 2025, the FS CaseCompetition took place in cooperation with Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG. Thanks to the generous support of the Frankfurt School’s Friends association the project could be brought to life.

The format offered 25 students from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management the opportunity to tackle an exemplary strategic challenge faced by Eintracht Frankfurt within 24 hours – specifically focused on further developing the club’s digital media offerings for fans.

At the outset, participants received exciting insights into the strategic challenges of a professional football club through a presentation by Eintracht Frankfurt. The teams then worked in small groups on a case study developed by the club, exploring potential innovations and growth opportunities for digital media offerings for fans. Combining analytical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, the students developed numerous innovative yet realistic ideas.

The event was rounded off with a stadium tour followed by the presentation of the results to representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt. The jury highlighted the high level of creativity as well as the feasibility of the proposed concepts. The winning team received tickets for a Bundesliga home match of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gian Zinngrebe, Manager in the Staff to the Executive Board at Eintracht Frankfurt, summarized: “The FS CaseCompetition was a great opportunity to bring Eintracht Frankfurt a bit closer to the students and to draw valuable ideas from the case study results. The exchange with the teams showed how much potential lies within the next generation of leaders. We are delighted to support such events and to inspire talented individuals to take on the challenges of tomorrow.”

The participants were equally enthusiastic about the blend of practical relevance and competitive spirit. Michelle Lanin, a first-semester student, described her experience as follows: “A very exciting, inspiring, and educational event that provided genuine insight into a realistic case.”

The FS CaseCompetition 2025 impressively demonstrated how practice-oriented learning succeeds at the Frankfurt School. The event not only enabled students to work on realistic business challenges but also offered valuable insights into the operations of a professional football club.

An excellent example of how Frankfurt School Student Consulting GmbH actively foster knowledge transfer between academia and industry while inspiring talented students to take on the challenges of the future.
