The programme can be attended in person at selected locations. Lectures are usually held on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Alternatively, it is possible to complete the programme online. The virtual courses take place on one evening during the week – Mondays or Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. – and on Saturdays, usually from 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

With your banking studies, you have the opportunity to apply for our Bachelor of Arts (Lateral Entry) programme. If you meet all the requirements and successfully complete a selection process, you can obtain an academic degree in a shorter period of time. Alternatively, you can also enrol directly in our Betriebswirt-Studium

Admission requirements
The admission requirement is a completed apprenticeship as a bank clerk or commercial training with at least one year of banking experience. Alternatively, four years of relevant professional experience in the banking sector will be accepted.
- Completed vocational training as a bank clerk or
- Commercial vocational training with at least one year of professional experience in a credit institution or
- At least four years of professional experience in the banking industry
- Other qualifications subject to individual assessment.

Funding and Financing
- Employer support: Many employers promote further training in banking – either through financial subsidies or through leave of absence or additional holiday days. Ask your human resources department for more information.
- Upgrading Training Assistance Act (Aufstiegs-BAföG): We will provide you with all the important information you need to apply for BAföG. We will provide you with the necessary documents at the start of your studies. To be eligible for Upgrading Training Assistance, you must have at least two years of practical experience (in banking-related work). The decisive factor is the period between the end of your vocational training and the date of your last course.

Curriculum
Our curriculum imparts banking-specific and economic expertise, taught by experienced lecturers. The compulsory modules in general banking management, business administration, law and economics span four semesters. The elective modules in the third and fourth semesters allow students to tailor their studies to their individual career goals.

- Topics are developed each year based on their practical relevance, e.g. cyber security, building trust with customers in online consulting
Project Licence Banking-IT: Banken im technologischen Wandel
- Three courses (evenings during the week) and a workshop from Thursday to Saturday on our campus in Frankfurt.
- Topics: Digital skills, digitisation projects, project management know-how and understanding of important topics in IT/AI.
- The workshop can be attended during the second or third semester.
- Cost: €490 (plus travel and accommodation costs, if applicable).
- Participants receive an additional certificate entitled ‘Project Management Licence in Banking IT’

The IHK examination is not mandatory, but it is recommended, as it enables students to obtain general university entrance qualifications and makes them eligible for further state financial support (e.g. Meisterbonus).
