Professor of Mathematics & Statistics (Education)

Pia Domschke has been a lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management since 2019 and was appointed Professor of Mathematics and Statistics (Education) in 2024. In her teaching, she is responsible for the areas of mathematics and statistics and coordinates the corresponding modules in all bachelor's programs.
Previously, she led a junior research group as an Athene Young Investigator at the Technical University of Darmstadt and was a Principal Investigator in the DFG Collaborative Research Center Transregio 154 "Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Using the Example of Gas Networks." Her research focuses on numerical analysis, particularly the numerical analysis of partial differential equations. She concentrates on the simulation of gas networks as well as the modeling and simulation of tumor growth in tissues.
Pia Domschke studied mathematics at Technische Universität Darmstadt, where she also received her PhD. As a postdoctoral research fellow, she spent a year conducting research at the University of Dundee in Scotland.
